Jonathan the Husky

UConn’s live mascot

Meet Jonathan XV

The fifteenth Husky to carry the name, cared for by the student handlers of Alpha Phi Omega.

About Jonathan

Jonathan XV is a Siberian Husky and UConn’s fifteenth live mascot, part of a tradition that began in 1935. He was introduced to the UConn community on June 28, 2023, trained alongside his big brother Jonathan XIV, and stepped into his official role as active mascot on March 3, 2024.

Between game days and campus events, Jonathan lives off campus with a host family, and his student handlers from Alpha Phi Omega visit and walk him every week.
